Grants for Researchers from Developing Economies

IFIP TC13 and the IFIP Digital Equity Committee offer a limited number of grants to support eligible Master’s and PhD students, as well as early-career researchers from developing economies, to attend INTERACT 2027 in person.

The grants are intended for researchers who are authors or co-authors of an accepted paper in the main INTERACT 2027 conference programme and who will present that paper at the conference. Workshop-only contributions are not eligible.

INTERACT 2027, the 22nd IFIP TC13 Conference on Human–Computer Interaction, will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, from 23-27 August, 2027.

  • The grants will be allocated to Masters and PhD students and early-career stage researchers, with accepted contributions, coming from and living in developing economies, on a needs basis. In similar situations, priority will be given to women, people with disabilities and minority groups.

What the Grant will Cover

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Complimentary student registration for INTERACT 2027.

  • Access to conference workshops and tutorials at no additional cost.

  • Reimbursement of eligible travel and accommodation expenses, up to a maximum of €750 in total.

The final reimbursement amount may be allocated proportionally, based on travel distance and available funds.

Only travel and accommodation in Tallinn, Estonia, for the duration of the conference are eligible for reimbursement. No other expenses, including meals, visa fees, insurance, local living costs, or personal expenses, are reimbursable.
